Anna Tetlow

Anna’s professional background originated in elite performance. She trained and graduated from The Royal Ballet School in London and danced professionally for 10 years. During her international career, Anna danced in six pre-eminent ballet companies, working with leading choreographers in world premier productions.

Retiring due to injury, Anna re-trained and began working in multidisciplinary integrated medical clinics in Harley Street London with celebrity clients from film and theatre. Anna subsequently relocated to Australia and commenced working with The Australian Ballet Company and the AFL and in injury management and rehabilitation.

Central to her work Anna has developed The Selah Technique: (Breath > Bridge > Body + Brain = Balance). The Selah Technique which is both holistic and evidence based, maximises physical and emotional resilience and assists in navigating the Stress-Calm Continuum. The Selah Technique strengthens respiratory muscles, postural and interoceptive awareness, corrects dysfunctional breathing patterns and improves parasympathetic capacity for performance and recovery.

Founder of ‘Anna Tetlow Pilates’ and ‘Ballet at the Boulevard’, Anna runs her Melbourne studios utilising her 20 years of global teaching experience. She provides holistic and individualised support to nurture the next generation of elite performers. Anna mentors students and teaches clients of all ages and from all walks of life, including elite and aspiring dancers, athletes and professionals, as well as training teachers. Her clients have included stars amongst the Hollywood elite and royalty.

Anna qualified with a distinction from the Pilates Foundation in the UK and has been teaching Pilates extensively internationally for over 20 years. She qualified as a GYROTONIC® teacher and a Master Trainer for The Garuda Method, responsible for bringing the method to Australia. She has worked in studios across the world mentoring and training teachers.

Anna maintains close relationships with medical and alternative therapy practitioners, frequently works on cross referrals with health service professionals. Alongside doctors, osteopaths and physiotherapists, she specialises in building up client programs in rehabilitation for pain management and post operative care. In addition she works closely with surgeons, obstetricians and child and maternal health clinics. Anna specialises in pre and post-natal care, including pelvic rehab and post C- section, having had three children this area has become an important part of her skills specialisation.

Anna continues also to mentor the next generation of teachers and dancers from pre professional to professional. ‘Ballet at the Boulevard’ offers coaching and mentoring for the next generation of dancers, with over 30 years experience in the of world of elite dance training. Anna examines in ballet schools and teaches young dance students, aspiring and professional dancers, coaching Australia’s leading professional dancers in ballroom and tango alongside her extensive work in classical ballet.
